Nigerian music icon, M.I Abaga said that it is wrong to believe that the Starboy Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy are Nigerian artiste. According to M.I, many of the artistes that are being praised for taking the Nigerian music industry to a higher level are not benefiting the industry. He said many of them like Wizkid , Davido, Burna Boy among others are signed by international companies and labels .
He also said that Nigerians should pay more attention to the up and coming artistes as he encourages them to remain true to the Nigerian music culture. He is of the belief that when Nigerian music pioneers like Keke and Dee One left the music scene, Nigerian music crumbled and now record labels like’ Mo’hits and EME are also going to dust.
