Your Marriage Is What You Make It To Be!

A married woman went to her pastor requesting him to break up the marriage he had joined together. The pastor wisely asked her to go back home and first reconcile with her husband, try to love him and do to him all the good things she had not been doing before, so that she would be guiltless at the time of breaking up the marriage. She was told that by doing so, she would be acting in obedience to what the Bible commands; that believers should owe no man anything but to love, according to Romans 13:8.

When this woman got home she did as the pastor had instructed her. The husband could not understand what had suddenly come upon his wife. He too decided to reciprocate her love.

Eventually, they became best friends. It was as if they just got married. The husband got promoted at his place of work, his wife’s business started thriving, and their children became happy and began doing well at school. Their neighbours envied them. In less than three months, they bought a new car and
started the foundation of their house.

Meanwhile, the pastor kept watching both of them. He observed that they usually came and left church hand in hand. He noticed that the bond between them got stronger by the day, and so he decided to visit them one day. When he got to their home, he told the wife that he was now ready to put asunder to their marriage relationship, and in fact, that was his purpose of coming.

But she replied her pastor that there was no man like her husband in the world. Her husband also said he blessed the day he married his wife. At that point, divorce became their greatest enemy. The devil she had made out of her husband vanished when love was given a chance.

More marriages might survive like ours if the couples realized that sometimes the better comes after the worse.

Your commitment to your spouse determines the beauty of your relationship. A happy marriage does not just happen by chance or luck; it is deliberately created.

Marriage requires personal commitment to ensure its success. The more you invest in your marriage, the more valuable it becomes. When you are committed to your marriage, you put in all your efforts to bring out the best in it. Getting your spouse to fall in love with you over and over again is easy once you have the right information and you apply it.

God wants you to be happy in your marriage. He wants you to have a marriage without sorrow. God wants you to have a strong, consistent, stable and beautiful marriage. No matter where you are presently in your marital journey, I want you to know that there is a brighter marital future ahead of you by God’s grace.

UNTIL YOU INTENTIONALLY WORK AT YOUR MARRIAGE, IT WON’T WORK! IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!

The truth is that there are no trouble-free marriages. EVERY marriage has issues. Accept this and resolve to find a resolution.

God doesn’t favour one marriage more than another. He is ready to give you joy, peace and happiness in your home as long as you fulfil your own part of the marriage covenant.
