Puffy eyes or periorbital puffiness is the swelling caused in the tissues around the eyes, called the orbits.
Though they are many reasons for the puffiness around the eyes, it is mostly caused by fluid buildup around the eyes, or periorbital edema.
Too much junk food, sleep deprivation and alcohol abuse are some of the major reasons for this puffiness, but if you thought it was incurable, you are certainly wrong!
There are some easy home remedies that can make you get rid of those ugly bags around the eyes. Here’s a look at them!
1. Ice cold water
Washing you face with ice cold water can help suppress the puffiness. The simple formula of a cold compress works here and you will be surprised with the results.
2. Cucumber slices
Cucumbers are best to reduce puffy eyes. Keep a few slices of cucumber in the fridge and then place them on your eyes for about 15 minutes. This will help in reducing the puffiness.
3. Tea bags
Two tea bags moistened in water and chilled in the refrigerator should be placed on the eyelids. They can work wonders.
4. Metal spoon
A rounded metal spoon cooled in the refrigerator for some time and held against the puffed portion of the eye for a few minutes also reduces puffed eyes visibly.
5. Drinking water
The simplest way to deal with the problem is by drinking 5-6 litres of water daily. Drinking a lot of water means clearing your system of all the toxins.
