John Dramani Mahama, the presidential aspirant on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress-NDC has given his word to the electorates that he promises to pay all customers of defunct banks if voted for as president.
According to the NDC’s flag bearer, he has heard the distress call of Ghanaians following the collapse of major financial institutions in the country, hence promises to pay all the aggrieved customers in his first term of office if elected.
Much more of the before-mentioned promises are expected in this electioneering year. All the other political parties through their elected flag bearers would come up with their sugar-coated promises to ‘steal’ the hearts of the electorate to vote them into power.
Yesterday in an address at the official outdoor ceremony for NDC’s running mate, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, John Mahama on behalf on his party said when they come into power he will ensure that he fulfils his promise.
Additionally, he said that his government(when voted into power) will strategize and come out with a proper payment plan to help them pay back the sums of money to the peeved customers.
In his closing submission on the banking crisis, John Dramani Mahaama said when the NDC is given the chance to direct the affairs of the nation, he will set up a financial services organisation to prevent a repeat of what happened in the Akufo-Addo administration.
