The world is home to some of the most mysterious places in the universe. these places can be so dangerous that tourists and travellers can vanish into thin air without traces.
Here are 6 of the most dangerous places across the world;
Lake Superior:
More than 200 ships have vanished beneath this lake. Lake Superior is the largest of the Great Lakes of North America and legend claims that Lake Superior never gives up her dead.
Intense storms whip the lake into 30 foot tall waves that snap massive ships in two. Many ships have disappeared without any trace.
The Bennington Triangle:
Located in southwestern Vermont, the Bennington Triangle was the last place five people were seen between 1945 to 1950. In the first incident, an 18-year old female hiker went missing when two other hikers were only a few 100 yards behind her.
Then exactly three days later, a man vanished from a moving bus without trace.
Highway 16 (Highway of Tears)
The British Columbia, Canada section of the Yellowed Highway is a spot many have gone missing. At least 18 women have vanished along this road. The first to go missing was Monica Ignas in 1975. Her dead body was later found but many of the missing girls have vanished, never to be seen again.
The Bermuda Triangle:
Possibly the most famous spot connected with unexplained disappearances. Dozens of ships and planes have vanished in the triangle, many without leaving any trace. One of the most famous disappearances is Flight 19.
On December 5th 1945, five US Navy Avenger bombers mysteriously vanished while on a routine training mission. The flight was led by Lieutenant Charles Taylor, who kept in contact on the radio until nothing could be heard. A rescue plane was sent out but never made it back either.
The Michigan Triangle:
The Bermuda Triangle’s northern cousin, stretches from Ludington to Benton Harbor, Michigan. In 1891, the schooner Thomas Hume and her crew of seven sailed into the triangle, never to return and leaving no traces.
Then in 1921, the ship Rosa Belle was found floating capsized in the Triangle without the 11 men who had sailed on her. After flying into the triangle in 1950, Northwest Airlines Flight 2501, carrying 58 passengers, never flew out.
America’s National Parks:
The national parks of America are more than 84 million acres of preserved woods, deserts, mountains and other wilderness. They are also the last place many people have been seen.
Author Davd Paulides recently wrote Missing 411, examining more than 1,100 cases of people who mysteriously went missing from national parks. Many were experienced hikers who vanished instantly just yards from other people.
