Petara Cordero, former NFL player Chris Smith’s 26-year-old girlfriend, died tragically on September 11, 2019. Haven Harris Smith, Cordero and Smith’s baby girl, had died in a car accident in Ohio just weeks after they had welcomed her. The adorable couple had been dating for a long time and had three children. Petara and Chris were getting married.

Petara Cordero, an event ambassador for Topgolf, died on September 11, 2019 at around 2 a.m. when Smith’s Lamborghini blew a tire and collided with a median wall, according to the Cleveland Police Department. The incident occurred near the West 140th Street exit. Cordero was hit by a Mazda driven by a lady as the former couple exited the car. She was rushed to Fairview Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

According to reports, the woman behind the wheel of the Mazda had been drinking. Her blood alcohol level was 0.08 percent. The Cleveland Browns issued a statement via their website. “Words cannot express how deeply we mourn Chris following the death of his girlfriend, Petara,” the statement says. “Our hearts go out to Chris, his family, and the Cordero family.” “We will do everything in our power to provide them with support, comfort, and resources during this difficult time,” Browns owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam said in a statement.

Chris Smith dedicated an emotional message to Petara Cordero after losing his partner in a car accident. Along with photos of the couple’s precious time together, Smith expressed his confusion about why her girlfriend was taken from him, but he understands she’s in a better place.

“God has a plan for every single one of us that we can’t understand, but she is in a better place now, and she can rest easy,” he said, referring to Cordero as “my wifey, best friend, and the mother of my beautiful daughter.”

“Love you, baby,” he said, adding the hashtag “stay strong,” which appeared to refer to Cordero’s chest tattoo.

Smith also revealed on his Instagram Story that he and many of their family members had the exact words tattooed on them.

Was Petara Cordero killer Charged?

The woman who hit Petara Cordero was not charged by authorities. She was not legally intoxicated or speeding when she hit Smith’s car, it has been revealed.

Smith and his girlfriend were standing outside their vehicle when a passing 2017 Mazda 3 collided with Cordero and the open passenger-side door of the footballer’s Lamborghini.
